These are the stages in a Black woman's life. Yet, they are also the hair phases that we go through. From cutting is all off to locs, we do it all. When a woman cuts her hair, it's not just a haircut. She's going through or has gone through something, and she's ready to let it all go. Each hairstyle is a new part of herself. If it's a breakup, she's ready to start a new life without that person in it, whether it's a boyfriend, family member, or friend. If it's simmering she didn't usually do to her hair, she wants you to see a different side of her. When a Black woman locs her hair, she going for permanent and simple.
